Phnom Penh: A Colourful Capital
Once famous as the French colonial capital, Phnom Penh has a chequered and sometimes difficult past. Sites such as Tuol Sleng Prison and Choeung Ek, the 'Killing Fields' have to be seen to be believed and paint a picture of Cambodia's troubled history.
However, Phnom Penh is a city that looks to the future. Walking through the city shows an eclectic mix of high end hotels, boutique restaurants and world famous shopping outlets. Visit the Reyum Institute of Arts & Culture or the jGallery to see some of the exciting and contemporary art coming out of Cambodia. Round out your day with drinks on the river at Sisowath Quay, Le Moon Terace Bar of the Foreign Correspondents Club.
