RENEGADE YACHT FOR SALE

Offering enduring quality and innovative design, 50 metre motor yacht RENEGADE is a superb example of Australian yacht-building craftsmanship. Commissioned under the project name Fiesta 23, she was originally launched by Lloyd’s Ships Holdings International in Brisbane and first entered the water as M/Y Robusto, measuring 43 metres in length.

Delivered in 1992, RENEGADE was conceived in collaboration with some of Australia’s most respected yacht designers with Bernie Cohen serving as principal naval architect alongside Allan Dowd. Her interior vision was entrusted to Ricky Smith, who delivered an elegant design that has remained a defining feature of the yacht.

Her hull and superstructure are both constructed in aluminium, a hallmark of Lloyd’s Ships builds of this era, combining strength with weight efficiency. With a beam of 8.9 metres and a deep draught of 3 metres, RENEGADE offers generous interior volume and optimum stability whilst cruising.

Powered by twin MTU 16V 396 TB94 engines, RENEGADE delivers a formidable performance befitting her size and pedigree. 5,800 horsepower and twin screw propellers, ensuring efficient propulsion and reliable handling at sea and she has a top speed of 17 knots with a cruising speed of 12 knots.

Since delivery, RENEGADE has undergone several extensive upgrades, including a major stern extension in 2016 that brought her to her current length of 50 metres. This extension not only enhanced her exterior profile but also increased deck space and functionality, ensuring her continued appeal on the international superyacht scene.

Designed for entertaining, RENEGADE’s spacious exterior offers a wealth of al fresco lounge and dining areas across her three decks. Onboard highlights include a spacious sundeck, a vast bathing platform with easy access to the water when swimming or launching the tender and a lounge/dining area with two fold down balconies on the main deck aft.

Inside, RENEGADE’s  warm and inviting atmosphere is defined by the elegant styling of Ricky Smith, whose vision blends classic sophistication with comfort. A full-beam saloon and dining area provides ample space for both formal entertaining and relaxed family gatherings, while large windows throughout the yacht flood the interiors with natural light.

As one of the larger custom yachts built in Australia during the early 1990s, RENEGADE represents a significant achievement for Lloyd’s, a yard known for combining robust engineering with luxury design. Her transformation from Robusto to the extended 50-metre RENEGADE is a testament to the adaptability of her design and construction quality.

Exclusively listed for sale with SuperYachtsMonaco, RENEGADE is currently lying in the South of France and is available to view by appointment only.

RENEGADE features

Launched in 1992 by Lloyd’s Ships Holdings International in Brisbane, RENEGADE was originally delivered as 43m M/Y Robusto. Built in Australia and designed by Bernie Cohen in collaboration with Allan Dowd, over the years she has undergone multiple refits, including a major 2016 stern extension that increased her length to 50m.

Powered by twin MTU 16V 396 TB94 engines, RENEGADE delivers a total of 5,800 horsepower through her twin screw propellers. With an impressive top speed of 17 knots and a cruising range of approximately 2,500 nautical miles at 12 knots, she is built in lightweight aluminium and combines strength, efficiency, and reliability for bluewater cruising.

RENEGADE’s exterior reflects the clean, purposeful lines of Lloyd’s Ships’ early 1990s design ethos, enhanced by her 2016 extension. Balancing strength with elegance, her profile gives her a timeless yet commanding presence at sea. With a navy blue hull and a crisp white superstructure, her look is classic, underscoring her pedigree and prestige.

RENEGADE’s expansive decks provide versatile areas for relaxation, dining, and entertainment. Her sundeck offers open lounging and sunbathing space, complemented by shaded seating for all-day enjoyment. The aft decks are designed for al fresco dining with seamless access to the water for swimming and water sports.

Designed by Ricky Smith, RENEGADE’s sophisticated interior embodies a timeless sense of grandeur, with an open layout enhancing the sense of space and light throughout. Smith’s approach resulted in a refined environment that has evolved through subsequent refits but still reflects the yacht’s heritage as a classic Lloyd’s Ships design.

Designed with an open-plan concept, RENEGADE’s spacious full-beam saloon is located on the main deck and features a large seating area and full bar. Forward of the saloon is a large formal dining room with sliding doors for additional privacy. On the upper deck you’ll find a cosy sky lounge with windows on all sides for panoramic views when cruising.

RENEGADE comfortably accommodates 10–12 guests across four elegantly appointed cabins. Located on the main deck, her full-beam master suite offers a private study, walk-in wardrobes and ensuite facilities. Guest accommodation includes two double and one twin cabin, each of which has an ensuite bathroom. The forward cabins also come with an additional Pullman berth for flexible guest arrangements.

RENEGADE also accommodates a dedicated 8-person crew in four cabins. Common crew areas include a fully equipped mess, lounge, and galley, allowing the team to coordinate effectively whilst ensuring privacy for both guests and crew.

Simon Ting says

“Extended to 50m and meticulously refitted, RENEGADE is a rare opportunity to own a pedigree Australian yacht that blends heritage, luxury, and capability in equal measure.”
