Few yachts manage to fuse audacious speed with architectural elegance quite like the AB 110. This 33.7-metre sportfly from AB Yachts was named best in class at the World Superyacht Awards, securing its win by a decisive margin. Praised for its innovation, design integrity and spirited performance, the AB 110 sets a compelling new standard for yachts in her category.
From her razor-sharp profile to her sophisticated spatial planning, the AB 110 is the embodiment of purposeful design. Crafted by AB Yachts in collaboration with Italian studio Archea Associati, the yacht is the first in the yard’s new sportfly series—a fleet defined by extended outdoor living spaces and a sleek, low-slung aesthetic. The flybridge, subtly integrated into the yacht’s silhouette, is accessed via twin carbon-fibre staircases, underscoring both material innovation and structural finesse.
At sea, the AB 110 is nothing short of exhilarating. Her advanced composite construction enables a top speed of 45 knots, supported by cutting-edge propulsion and a hull form optimised for velocity. Yet comfort remains uncompromised: dual Seakeeper gyrostabilisers ensure a remarkably stable experience, even at anchor.
Step inside, and a different kind of dynamism unfolds. Judges noted the light-infused, loft-like interiors that blur the line between inside and out. A continuous teak sole runs from the beach club through to the saloon, wheelhouse and staircase, creating a seamless visual rhythm. The design team made liberal use of carbon fibre throughout, not only for its strength-to-weight advantage but also as a visual motif repeated inside and out. At night, a carefully curated lighting scheme ensures the yacht stands out while at anchor, heightening her presence with ambient elegance.
The use of ultra-light, thermally resistant glazing enhances both comfort and efficiency—reducing solar gain while easing demand on onboard systems. This feature, paired with lightweight construction and efficient air-conditioning use, supports a more sustainable onboard energy profile.
Accommodation is intelligently arranged, with a full-beam owner’s suite amidships, a VIP suite forward, and two twin cabins, all exuding quiet luxury. Clever spatial planning maximises livability without disrupting the yacht’s athletic proportions.
A shallow 1.3-metre draft opens access to secluded anchorages and coastal waters, reinforcing the AB 110’s role as both a high-performance vessel and a sophisticated retreat. In a competitive field, it was this rare synthesis of innovation, elegance and experiential design that propelled her to the top.
