Unmissable Charter Events in 2017

Whilst on charter, there is no better way to enjoy top sporting or social functions than from the comfort and privacy of your luxurious superyacht. To help you plan your agenda for 2017, take a look at our quick guide to some of the best sports and social events which will be held worldwide next year

Kick off the New Year Down Under and catch the Australian Open which will be held in Melbourne next January. Watch some of the world’s top-ranking players play at Melbourne Park and enjoy the warmth and sunshine of an Australian summer. Once the tennis is finished, cruise over to South-East Asia and enjoy the Chinese New Year celebrations held across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. Watch colourful processions of traditional dragon dancers, taste some of Asia’s finest street-food and experience the incredible firework displays which will be held all over the region to see in the Year of the Rooster.

In February, steer a course for the Caribbean and watch some of the world’s finest sailing yachts compete against one another at the Superyacht Cup Challenge and the RORC Caribbean 600 in Antigua. Set against the backdrop of the stunning Caribbean islands, these challenges are a fabulous spectacle for yacht owners and enthusiasts and a great way to end the winter season in the West Indies.

Come April it will be time to head back to Europe and take in some of the Superyacht shows before the start of the season in the Mediterranean. The Palma Superyacht Show will have an impressive array of world-class superyachts on display for sale and charter, as well as hosting several important networking events for yacht owners and professionals.

May sees the start of summer on the French Riviera. Spend time socialising in Cannes at the 70th Anniversary of the iconic Film Festival before hopping down the coast to Monte Carlo to catch the 75th edition of the Monaco Grand Prix from the best seats in town on the upper deck. Spend the rest of the summer cruising the Mediterranean and relaxing in the golden sunshine of the Cote d’Azur before returning to Monaco in September for the 2017 Yacht Show to discover the latest yacht designs and hi-tech gadgets for the 2018 season.

In early November take in the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show in the USA and spend a few days in the ‘Yachting Capital of the World’ which also boasts some of the best cruising grounds in the Americas with miles of golden beaches and stunning coral reefs to explore. Round off November with a visit to exotic Abu Dhabi for the final Grand Prix of the season and enjoy the warm hospitality and glittering nightlife of the Middle East before returning home to plan your winter season 2017-2018.
