PLAYPEN is yours to charter from AUD$190,000 per week. Read on to see why she's the number 1 choice for all your Australian charter dreams...
If you’re looking for the perfect superyacht to charter throughout Australia, PLAYPEN is new to the market in 2021 and is ready to whisk you away to the Whitsundays, the Great Barrier Reef, and beyond. Fresh from her 2020/21 refit, PLAYPEN is a magnificent build from shipyard Richmond Yachts and can accommodate up to 10 guests.
PLAYPEN is not only a proven world cruiser (having recently completed a three-year circumnavigation of the globe), she is also fortunate enough to boast a dedicated and experienced crew that are at the ready to assist their guests in every possible way. Captain Cook has been at the helm of a superyacht for over 25 years and joined the PLAYPEN crew back in 2017. His extensive experience in the yachting industry makes him ready for any eventuality.
Kristina Kopfer, PLAYPEN’s fantastic chef, has extensive experience onboard superyachts and has even led two galley teams for National Geographic. Simon Preston (1st mate and 2nd engineer) is passionate about picking up new skills every day and discovering new regions of the world. When it comes to the interior, chief stewardess Amanda Pearson leads her team of 3 to make the guests’ experience onboard as smooth as possible. Between them, you can be sure your charter experience will be seamless, uncomplicated, and unforgettable.
As for her layout, PLAYPEN boasts ample exterior deck space for just about any activity that comes to mind. On the main and bridge decks are alfresco dining areas, as well as some lounge chairs on the bridge deck. Guests can also laze around on the sun deck where they have access to a jacuzzi, wet bar, lounging areas, and TV. In other words, the perfect combination for a cocktail party.
One of PLAYPEN’s most attractive features, however, is her extensive array of water toys. In a nutshell, PLAYPEN has onboard an 18’ and 13’ Novurania Tender, 2 Seadoo Spark 90 Jet skis, 4 F5 Seabobs, underwater scooters, 2 inflatable paddle boards, 2 inflatable kayaks, fishing & snorkeling gear, and much more. By request, the crew can also arrange a diving session if guests wish to spend more time underwater.
After a full day of activities outside, PLAYPEN’s interior is perfect to escape and relax. During the day, the yacht’s wide windows on the main deck illuminate her salon and dining table and invite you to relax amongst her plush leather sofas and rich wooden interior. Accommodation is plentiful onboard PLAYPEN; the master suite and office area are on the main deck and include a his & hers bathroom and supersize mattress. Other guests sleep on the lower deck with 2 double and 2 twin cabins available.
PLAYPEN offers guests the opportunity to explore some of the most impressive islands on the Australian coast. The Whitsundays are a remarkable set of over 70 islands, inlets, and shorefronts that are yours to discover.
Hamilton Island is one of the most attractive stops along the way. Extensive white beaches and shimmering blue seas surround the island. If you choose to wander around the island, keep an eye out for flocks of friendly sulfur-crested cockatoos. The coral reefs nestled in the seabed also hide innumerable forms of life. If you fancy yourself an explorer, feel free to use PLAYPEN’s snorkeling equipment or ask the crew to organize a diving session. More inland, discover the Hamilton Island Golf Club or impressively built Hamilton Island Yacht Club.
The next stop on your PLAYPEN adventure, Hayman Island, is truly bucket-list material. Aside from the picturesque beaches, the resort is designed to satisfy every wish; the private resort on the island features multiple boutiques, restaurants, and the award-winning Spa Chakra.
The namesake of the area – Whitsunday Island – is the largest of her formation in the area. PLAYPEN’s guests are afforded the gift of discovering isolated coves and beachlines that can only be accessed by boat. Visit Tongue Bay in the Northern area of the island, which is famous for its ample amount of sea turtles. These gentle creatures are quite curious and will particularly make themselves visible up on the beaches during the sunset. Particularly, the famous Whitehaven Beach. Considered to be one of the top 10 places to visit in the world, this 7-km coastline is unparalleled in its beauty.
Next stop, Cid Harbor is a great place to anchor at and explore what the surrounding islands have to offer. On the western coast of Whitsunday Island, this harbor is just next to Whitsunday Peak. Towering at 1,357 meters, this is the highest peak in the island group and is a great place to get a panoramic view of the area. Waters are quite calm near Cid Harbor, which also makes it perfect for stand-up paddleboards or kayaking.
After Whitsunday Island, head over to the Nara Inlet on Hook Island for an unprecedented look at some prehistorical art. A quick 20-minute walk leads to marvelous cave paintings carved by Ngaro Aboriginals thousands of years ago. Guests can also choose to visit Cataran Bay on Border Island whose surrounding waters are completely protected by the coastguard and naval patrol, thus letting the marine flora and fauna thrive. Having met little to no humans, fish will be curious to meet anyone that shows up in their habitat.
