Chateau d'Estoublon - A Perfect Add-on to your Charter

This year as an addition to your usual summer charter, why not add an extra week or two onto your package and treat yourself to a little time on dry-land to discover everything the South has to offer? For the perfect 'on-shore' experience this summer, we recommend a stay at the Chateau d'Estoublon in the sun-drenched Baux Valley

pending a summer on charter in the South of France is a very special experience. There’s nothing nicer than spending your days sailing through the azure blue waters of the Mediterranean and your nights in the glamorous resorts along the coast. But there’s so much more to the French Riviera than beaches. Some of the most lovely and breath-taking scenery in the world can be found in the countryside of Provence, just inland from the Mediterranean.

Slow-Luxury
For the perfect ‘on-shore’ experience this summer, we recommend a stay at the Chateau d’Estoublon in the sun-drenched Baux Valley, a short helicopter ride from the ports of Antibes and Monaco. This beautiful chateau dating back to the 18th Century, is situated in the very heart of Provence and surrounded by the stunning Alpilles Regional Natural Park. The chateau is set in its own two-hundred-hectare estate made up of picture-perfect vineyards, olive groves and pine trees, and has been producing delicious AOP wine and extra-virgin olive oil since 1731. Welcome to a private and very exclusive world of slow luxury.

Thrilling History
Just minutes away from the charming village of Les Baux-de-Provence, the Chateau d’Estoublon has a long and thrilling history. Built in the middle ages and originally called Le Grand Mas, the property first belonged to the family of the Count of Baux. After being destroyed in a siege by Queen Yolande d’Aragon, it was rebuilt in the 17th Century as the Château de Mont-Paon and then renamed the Chateau d’Estoublon in honour of the fiefdom of Estoublon in the 18th Century. Since 1999, the Chateau has belonged to the Schneider family and today the estate is run by Valérie Schneider and her husband Rémy Reboul.

Unforgettable Holidays
Luxurious and chic, the Chateau d’Estoublon is the perfect place to discover life in Provence. The Chateau has been entirely renovated by the Schneider family and elegantly decorated in an authentic 18th Century style with a modern twist and the latest technology. The property features accommodation for up to 20 people with 3 King-sized suites, 6 Queen-sized double rooms and 1 Queen-sized double room with disabled access. The Chateau comes fully staffed with a house manager to oversee your holiday, and a butler, nanny, head chef and housekeeping staff to make sure everything runs smoothly. Hire out several suites or privatise the entire estate for your family and friends. With a living space of over 1500m² spread out over 3 floors, this is the ideal house for an unforgettable holiday in the South of France.

“A family home with the advantages of a luxury hotel”
Spending time at the Chateau d’Estoublon is like staying in a family home but with all the advantages of a luxury hotel. Wake up in your uniquely-decorated suite and then start your day in the candlelit breakfast room downstairs. Play a game of billiards in the library or curl up with a good book in the Grand Salon which overlooks the glorious rose garden. Spend quality time with the family in the private cinema room and heated pool, then take a little time for yourself in the hammam and fitness suite. As the sun goes down, enjoy a glass of Estoublon wine on the terrace before heading in to your private English bar for a pre-dinner cocktail or two, life at the Chateau d’Estoublon is every bit as elegant as life on board your superyacht.

Easy Access
Outside, 3 sunny terraces lead from the main house to the gardens, all of which are perfect for a leisurely lunch overlooking the park. A 1.6km circuit runs around the grounds and allows guests to explore the extensive domain and learn more about the vineyards, olive groves and local Mediterranean wildlife which can be found in the gardens. There is a delightful little chapel with stained-glass windows which can be used as a gathering place for the family and a modern olive mill where the estate’s excellent olive oil is pressed and produced on-site. Spend an afternoon by the swimming pool and then challenge your friends to a game on the Chateau’s boules court, Estoublon has it all. From a practical point of view, the estate also has a covered car park and a private heliport for easy access and smooth transfers from your yacht to the Chateau or into town.

The Choice is Yours
There’s no shortage of activities to enjoy in the local area either. The beautiful region of Provence where the mountains meet the Mediterranean, is the ideal vacation destination. Explore the Alpilles Natural Park area on horseback or by motorbike, or go for a hike amongst the rocky hills. Visit the local villages and enjoy a traditional Provençal festival to learn more about local customs and food. Further afield the Chateau is just a short helicopter ride away from glamorous St Tropez for a day at the beach, or an easy drive to Avignon for a trip to the Theatre Festival. The Chateau staff can also organise fun activities for you and your guests, take a cooking class to learn more about French cuisine, drive around Provence in a vintage car or enjoy a fabulous evening out at the opera in Aix-en-Provence, the choice is yours.

With so much to enjoy, the Chateau d’Estoublon is an ideal home away from home in the South of France and the perfect compliment to a luxury superyacht charter in the Mediterranean.
